Does the secret work? Day 1
"The Secret" says that the universe is just like a catalog, we get to pick out whatever we want. I love to shop, so this seemed ideal for me. I was a little skeptic about story upon story of "I drew a picture of the house I wanted & five years later, I was living in it." I heard stories about creating financial freedom from thin air. Again though, it involved shopping, so I thought why not? This was the one chance in my life where I wouldn’t have to look at price tags, or concern myself with practicality.
I had no idea how involved positive thinking was. It’s really a full time job. Hopefully, as the experiment goes on, it will become easier. It took me all day just to figure out what I wanted & to assemble pictures in a way that I could look at them everyday. Even now, I’m worried that I might have messed something up & accidentally cropped a picture too close & will lose a foot in some tragic accident because of it. Obviously, my understanding of the secret, not so good. Even if this doesn’t work, it was nice just to set clear goals & to have a visual of what I want.

I’m not good at positive thinking… I have to remind myself to do it. And I’ve never drawn a picture of what I want. But I do have what I want, at long last (except that elusive million dollars). Working at it does work.

I read that drawing a mental image of what you want will help you achieve your target. Well, it never worked for me

Gosh! I’m lucky to be naturally optimistic. But then… my life has been pretty lucky, so I guess it just builds that way.
Good luck trying to think positive.

Sara,
You should check out about.com regarding being a guide. They pay pretty good (around $700 a month) for writing articles and they have an opening on fibromyalgia.

At first i didnt believe any of the secret stuff. Im 16 years old and my mom told me about it. I figured it was just another stupid hobby she had. My mom told me she wanted to win the lottery. 2 weeks later she won the lottery twice. She only won 600 dollars both times. . . but she still won it. Now i believe that it really works

Thinking and staying positive is hard to do. It does work though, but u just have to remind yourself sometimes if some negative thoughts come thru.
