The Secret
This month’s experiment is inspired by Oprah. If it’s good enough for Oprah, it’s good enough for me. I watched "The Secret" last week, & didn’t think that it was really anything new. Oprah has been telling us about gratitude journals for years. I usually shy away from people like this because they tell me that being sick is all in my head & then I have to say that being stupid is all in their head, & it never goes over well. However, I really wanted to give "The Secret" a fair shot. So for the next 30 days I am going to use the law of attraction to build my business & better my life. Apparently it’s as simple as "Ask, Believe, Receive". The big trouble I will have with this is the believe part because I’m naturally sarcastic, maybe "The Secret" can help me with that. Any comments, criticisms, suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Side Note: I tried to get the book from a book swapping club I am a member of. I am the 401 person in line, & I can’t spend $30 on a book until "The Secret" actually works for me.

I watched the DVD. The Secret is basically positive thinking repackaged in a slick new way. Don’t get me wrong. Positive thinking is an important part of success. But all the positive thinking in the world won’t replace work. The video talked about how all these people had success just thinking positive, but it wasn’t just positive thinking. All the people they interview worked really hard to get there.
Another thing I don’t like about The Secret Phiolosophy is that it blames victims of horrible tragedies for their pains. The author of the secret claims that not only are our good “intentions” manifested , our bad thoughts are also manifested. I have a hard time swallowing that the victims of 9/11, the holocaust, and the South Asia tsunami were all sitting around intending to be wiped out.

Arsenal Of Goals & Plans Carnival…
Another day, another Arsenal of Goals & Plans Carnival. I consider this one a success, despite the short notice. As always, thank you, everyone. Enjoy….
Whether or not The Secret really “works,” I can’t say, but I do know that I feel better when I watch that video. I feel empowered ,and I look at things through slightly rosier tinted glasses. So, whether or not it brings riches and bounty into my life, it has made me a nicer person to live with, and I think that’s worth quite a lot. Don’t you?

Well, I keep hearing about it. People keep telling me to buy it but no one has offered to lend it to me. That is odd to me. I don’t have $30 to spend on a book period. I’m not in school anymore and can’t justify spending that much on a book that isn’t a text book.
I also noticed that when I asked what it was about what it said no one gave me a straight answer. Did these people buy stock? The close “lippedness” of those whom swear by it is a super huge turn off for me. I mean Harry Potter fans will tell you everything!
But if it works for someone then good. I’m fine on my own though.
