Cleaning with Fibromyalgia

I received a great comment here about what is the best way to clean a house with fibromyalgia. How are you supposed to keep a clean house when just emptying the dishwasher is a full day? Here are some tips I use to keep my house looking like “not a sty”.
1. What can you do without? Are there some little knick knacks that you can get rid of so dusting isn’t so hard? Can you have people take off their shoes when they come in your house so they don’t track in mud?
2. If you have other people living with you, explain I can’t do such and such because it hurts me, but I can do this and this. They should be more than happy to accommodate you.
3. There’s a lot of cool cleaning supplies that might help you. I use the Mr. Clean Eraser to clean my porcelain sink, it eliminates a lot of the scrubbing. The things that cause me the most pain are bending down and scrubbing so I try to eliminate those as much as possible. I use a long handled dust pan.
4. The thing I have found to be the most helpful is to keep up on my cleaning everyday. This way the house is never too messy and I don’t have an overwhelming amount to do, so depending on the day I will clean between 5-10 minutes, which I also count as part of my exercise.
The last tip is that we will just have to let some things go and not go for a perfectly clean house. What cleaning activities hurt you the most? Do you have any tips or product reviews? How do you keep your house clean? Leave a comment and let me know.

I am very bad about pacing and cleaning. I work full time and do not clean during the week. Well, I do the dishes and keep sinks clean and stuff picked up. LOL
I save the vacuuming, dusting, laundry and stuff for the Saturday. I have to admit I haven’t gotten down on my hands and knees to scrub the floors in a long time. Vacuuming wears me out because the vacuum is heavy and I have to do stairs. By the time I’m done with that, I quit.

You’ve got some good ideas but I live with a super pig and it makes things extra tough.
